Nominations Sought for The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise PromotionDo you know someone doing great things to encourage entrepreneurship in others? An outstanding individual working in business, education, training or youth work, for example?
Nominations for The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) are currently being invited before the deadline of 31 October 2007. Organisers are looking for exceptional people, who have gone ‘beyond the normal call of duty’ to:
• make an outstanding contribution to the growth of an enterprise
• promote entrepreneurial skills and attitudes in others
• encourage others to start a business
If you owe your own business success to the exceptional efforts of a particular business mentor or other “enterprise champion”, then this is a great way to say “thank you”. As an added incentive, those who nominate the successful candidates will be invited to join them at a special reception at Buckingham Palace next year.

Meanwhile, don’t forget that if your business has two or more people, and can demonstrate outstanding achievements in International Trade, Innovation or Sustainable Development, it might be eligible for a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Deadline for applications for the 2008 Awards is also midnight on 31 October 2007, so don’t delay – visit
