Queen’s Awards Seek Nominations and Applications
Many small businesses owe much of their early success to the support, inspiration and encouragement of a particular individual – perhaps an enterprise teacher or a financial backer, a business mentor or a regional enterprise champion.
Now there’s a way to say “thank you” to these exceptional people by nominating them for the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP). And if your nominated candidate is successful, you’ll end up joining them at a special reception at Buckingham Palace next year.
Nominations for The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) can be made any time up to 31st October 2008 by visiting
www.queensawards.org/individual and downloading a nomination form. Organisers are looking for individuals who have gone ‘beyond the normal call of duty’ to:
• make an outstanding contribution to the growth of an enterprise
• promote entrepreneurial skills and attitudes in others
• encourage others to start a business
Meanwhile, don’t forget that if your business has two or more people, and can demonstrate outstanding success in International Trade, Innovation or Sustainable Development, it might be eligible for a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Business applications for the 2009 Awards must also be submitted before midnight on 31 October 2008, so don’t delay – visit
www.queensawards.org.uk/business for more info.
